How much deposit do we have to pay to confirm our wedding date?

£1000 deposit is required to secure your date. This is non-refundable

When is the balance due?

Up to 50% of your total price is due 6 months before the wedding date with the balance due 3 months in advance of your wedding.

Is there anything else to pay?

Yes, we request a £1000 Good Housekeeping Deposit which is payable 2 weeks prior to the wedding and returned no later than 7 days after the wedding. This is not for small minor damages like broken glasses it’s for major damage.

We have drinks packages available from £30pp

Can we add on additional nights/days for family and friends gathering and post wedding celebrations?

Yes, if there is space in the diary. Prices available on request

Can we bring our dog?

We are dog friendly throughout the venue and accommodation and welcome well behaved dogs. We are a working farm so please be mindful not to worry the sheep and clean up after your furry friend.  

We also have facilities to welcome horses & ponies!

Do you allow Confetti?

Only natural petal confetti is allowed due to the safety of the wildlife on and around the estate.

Do you allow Fireworks, Chinese lanterns or Helium Balloons?

No these are not allowed due to the livestock on the farm. Sparklers are allowed.

Are drinks packages available for the drinks reception, toasts and wine for the table?

Yes drinks packages are available starting from £30 pp.

Does the bar accept Cash and Card?

Yes the bar accepts both cash and card.

We do advise to bring cash in case the 4G network has issues.

How much should our guests expect to pay for drinks?

All drinks are reasonably priced starting from £6 for a pint or spirit & mixer increasing slightly for premium malts and spirits.

Can we provide a paid for bar?

Yes we can arrange for a bar tab to be set up which has a limit or is unlimited

Is the bar well stocked?

Yes, we have a wide selection of drinks and are proud to stock local brands alongside all the common favourites. Some of our Scottish brands include:

We also stock a wide range of beers, Gin, Vodka, Whisky and Rum as well as cocktails on tap!

Can we bring our own drinks for the evening party?

No, anyone found bringing alcohol onto the premises which has not been purchased from the bar will be asked to leave the venue.

Are external bars allowed?

No, external bars are not permitted

Is drinking water supplied?

Yes, drinking water is included in our drinks package.

Do we have to use a preferred supplier?

No you are free to choose your own suppliers, we do kindly ask you run them past us so we can share any experiences with you before you book your suppliers.

We work exclusively with our catering partners, please select from those listed on the supplier page only. Alternative caterers are welcome however, must have the express written consent from the owners.

Is there disabled access?

Yes we have disabled access and facilities

What is the maximum capacity?

We can accommodate up to 160 in the Old Mill for a Ceremony so we suggest that numbers are within this, however evening guests can increase to 200. For ceremonies with over 120 guests, chiavari style chairs are required. We can hire these on your behalf for £3/chair.

Can we BBQ at Cardney?

Yes you can however we do not provide BBQ’s so you would need to bring your own.

How many people can stay at Cardney Steading?

There are 3 properties on site sleeping up to 18. 

Middle Cardney Farmhouse - Sleeps up to 10
Craigmore Lodge - Sleeps up to 6
The Couples Cabin - Sleeps 2

Are all linens included?

Yes all bed linen and towels are included.

When is check in/out?

You can check in the accommodation from 12pm one your arrival day and check out is 3pm the day following the wedding or 10am if you are staying extra nights.

Can guests bring a caravan, Camper or camp?

Yes guests are welcome to bring a caravan or camper van if you’re happy for them to share the accommodation facilities. There is plenty of parking space however no hook up or facilities for them. They must be parked by the accomodation at Middle Cardney. Camping is also allowed and you can also arrange for yurts to be erected to provide additional accommodation.

What’s the best way to get my guests to Cardney Steading?

We are situated just 4 miles from Dunkeld and 8 miles from Blairgowrie. There are local Taxi companies who can provide a range of vehicles. It’s best to book these well in advance though as there are limited taxis in the area. There are also a number of local coach companies. Cardney is accessible by up to 53 seater coaches.

Because it’s such a popular destination we do advise that you share this information with your guests ASAP.

What about if my guests are travelling from further afield?

Dunkeld and Birnam station is located just on the other side of the A9 and has direct links from London. We are also centrally located  just 1.5 hours from Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

What time can we celebrate until?

Our entertainment licence is until 12am so all music must finish at this time. 

The alcohol licence ends at 12:30am, last orders are 12:15am.

Deliveries & Contractors

Any deliveries or contractors brought in for your wedding must be within the hire period only, as stated in your contract from 12pm the day prior to the event and must be cleared by 3pm the following day. Including all vehicles.
